Gameplay

CONTROL Resonant expands the series into an action-adventure RPG built around exploration, supernatural combat, and character progression. Players travel through large areas of a distorted Manhattan, searching for hidden encounters, completing side activities, and navigating spaces transformed by paranatural phenomena.

Combat revolves around combining Dylan's evolving abilities with the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee weapon designed to adapt to different situations. It can deliver heavy strikes in hammer form or transform into dual blades for faster attacks. Environmental and elemental abilities add further options, while progression choices allow players to influence how Dylan's powers develop.

Story

After years of confinement by the Federal Bureau of Control, Dylan Faden emerges into Manhattan during a devastating paranatural crisis. A mysterious cosmic entity is altering fundamental aspects of reality, while the corrupting influence of the Hiss, the Mold, and other supernatural threats spreads through the city.

With FBC Director Jesse Faden missing, Dylan must search for his sister while uncovering what has happened to the Bureau and the world outside the Oldest House. His journey is also a personal struggle as he attempts to understand his powers, reclaim his identity, and preserve his humanity while becoming one of the strongest weapons against the growing catastrophe.
